Saskatchewan Entertainment Facility

In November of 2009, Office for Urbanism was retained by the City of Regina to produce a site concept and design guidelines in relation to a provincially directed feasibility study addressing the possible creation of a new entertainment facility and mixed-use area in the Warehouse District, directly north of the downtown. Some of the key objectives of the development were to create better pedestrian linkages across the railroad tracks that divide the downtown and the warehouse district, to bring more residential uses within walking distance of the downtown, to enhance the Warehouse District as a major entertainment centre, and to integrate a large entertainment facility into the urban fabric while maintaining a fine grained, pedestrian friendly street network and public realm.
